Families United in Educational Leadership (FUEL) illuminates the pathway to higher education for low income families, especially first generation to college students. We believe that family ambition is one of the most important factors in educational attainment. It is crucial to expand the focus of educational reform to include families. Through a matching savings program and reshaping the scholarship systems, we aim to galvanize communities of families to foster ambition. We ask families to save, attend monthly forums about financial and higher education topics, and enroll their students in instructional afterschool programs. Read more...
